Joe Cole: 'Aston Villa players not affected by Roy Keane exit'

Aston Villa midfielder Joe Cole says that the players were not affected by the sudden departure of assistant manager Roy Keane.

Aston Villa midfielder Joe Cole has revealed that the players were not affected by the sudden departure of assistant manager Roy Keane.

The Irishman left his role with the Midlands outfit just a day before Villa's 1-1 draw at Burnley on Saturday.

Cole scored his first goal for Villa to earn them the draw at Turf Moor.

When asked if Keane's exit had disrupted their preparations, Cole told BBC WM: "We were just focused on performing."

Keane will continue his role as assistant to Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill.
