Micah Richards claims he rejected transfer to Inter Milan this year

New Aston Villa defender Micah Richards has revealed that he turned down a move to Inter Milan earlier this year.

The Englishman spent last season on loan at Fiorentina from Manchester City, and he was offered the chance to work with former City boss Roberto Mancini again.

He is quoted as saying by the The Mirror: "I was speaking to Inter. They tried to get me in January, but that didn't materialise. I spoke to Mancini again, but I wanted to come back to England."

Richards signed a four-year contract at Villa Park.
