Report: Aston Villa to name Mark Robson as first-team coach

Mark Robson will be named as Aston Villa's first-team coach, according to reports.

Aston Villa are planning to appoint Mark Robson as a first-team coach, according to reports.

New manager Tim Sherwood is said to be keen to add some fresh faces to his backroom staff, as he hopes to preserve Villa's Premier League status.

The Birmingham Mail claims that Robson will replace Scott Marshall, who was released today.

Robson left his role as Norwich City Under-21s boss in November, but he has continued to work in youth football with the Football Association.

Robson was briefly joint-manager of Barnet with Edgar Davids last year.
