Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has claimed that new signing Rudy Gestede will prove to be a bargain for the club.
Gestede arrives from Blackburn Rovers with the pressure on him to fill the void left by Christian Benteke, who moved to Liverpool for £32.5m last month, but Sherwood is confident that the £6m striker will impress in the Premier League.
"Rudy has a lot of qualities but one outstanding one and that's his aerial presence, which is immense," the Villa boss told reporters. "It's better than anything I have seen around in English football. He terrorises defenders in the air.
"Everyone talks about Jordan Rhodes and absolutely right because he scores goals, but Rudy outscored him last season.
"They're talking about £11m upwards for Jordan. We think we have a bargain with Rudy. Also, he's a great guy and wants to develop and learn."
Gestede scored 22 goals in all competitions last season.
