Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood has revealed that the squad is "buzzing" following their strong start to the season.

The Villans are currently in third place in the Premier League table thanks to two wins and a draw from their opening three games.

Despite tough matches against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all up next for Villa, Westwood is confident that he and his teammates can continue their positive run.

"There's a great buzz. The mood in camp is really, really good," the 24-year-old told the club's official website.

"We wanted to get some points on the board early on - and that's what we have done. The next fixtures we've got are really tough but we are determined to play well and perform."

Westwood has featured in all three of Villa's Premier League matches so far this season.
