Marc Albrighton keen on Wigan Athletic stay

Wigan Athletic loanee Marc Albrighton speaks of his desire to remain with the Championship outfit.

Marc Albrighton has conceded that he would be happy to extend his loan spell with Wigan Athletic.

The 24-year-old was granted permission to join the Championship outfit by his parent club Aston Villa last month.

His four-week deal will conclude shortly, which would see him return to Villa Park.

However, the winger has revealed that he is keen for both clubs to reach an agreement that would see him remain at the DW Stadium.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I know that the clubs will probably talk on whether they're going to extend the loan, I'd happily renew the contract and get a few more games here, definitely," he told the Wigan Evening Post.

"As it stands I'll be in training for a couple of days here and then go back. I'd definitely like to stay though.

"The lads have been brilliant and they've got a plan here and the plan is to get straight back into the Premier League, and I just want to play as many games for the club as I can and help them do that."

Albrighton has made five appearances for Owen Coyle's team.
