Alex McLeish: 'Robbie Keane loan is close'

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has claimed that Robbie Keane's two-month loan deal from Los Angeles Galaxy will be completed by "Sunday night or Monday morning".

The Republic of Ireland international is hoping to spend the MLS off-season with the Premier League side.

"There's red tape and it's about cutting through it," said McLeish. "We're waiting for clearance.

"If we get the green light he should be here Sunday night or Monday morning."

Villa made it through to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening with a 3-1 win at League Two Bristol Rovers.
