Aston Villa have reportedly made an attempt to sign Esteban Cambiasso.
The 34-year-old is a free agent after his one-year contract with Leicester City expired on Tuesday.
It has been reported that Cambiasso has been offered a new deal to remain at the King Power Stadium, but several Premier League sides are chasing his signature.
The Argentine joined the Foxes last summer and was a pivotal figure in their Premier League survival, winning the club's Player of the Season award in the process.
According to The Sun, Villa are one of the clubs interested in Cambiasso and have offered him a contract.
Cambiasso scored five goals in 31 Premier League appearances for Leicester last term.
