Aston Villa 'battling Wolverhampton Wanderers for Christian Luyindama'

Aston Villa are reportedly ready to battle West Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race to sign Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama.

Aston Villa have reportedly identified Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama as a potential signing during the next transfer window.

Having impressed during his first campaign in Turkey, Luyindama is being linked with a move to a bigger club later in 2020.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have previously been credited with an interest in the centre-back, who is now valued well in excess of the £4.5m which Galatasaray paid for his signature.

According to Turkiye, Villa are ready to enter the race for the Frenchman, providing that they remain in the Premier League.

Although Galatasaray are said to want to agree fresh terms with Luyindama, much could depend on the size of the bids which they receive ahead of next season.

As it stands, the player has just two years remaining on his contract.
