Alex McLeish is reportedly interested in bringing midfielder Steven Davis back to the Midlands from Rangers.
Villa are willing to offer around £2m for the Northern Irish international, according to The Sun.
The 26-year-old graduated from Villa's youth system to make his senior debut for the club in 2004, and went on to make 91 appearances before moving to Fulham for £4m in 2007.
Davis then signed for Rangers in 2008, where he has scored 14 goals in 125 games.
Aston Villa are currently ninth in the Premier League with 19 points from 15 games.
