Edoardo Reja hails "important point" against Roma

Edoardo Reja says that Atalanta BC "took home an excellent point" following their 1-1 draw with Roma.

Atalanta BC manager Edoardo Reja has said that his side's 1-1 draw against Roma will give them a confidence boost in their fight against relegation.

The Nerazzurri came from behind at the Stadio Olimpico to move seven points clear of the relegation zone with seven games of the season left to play.

It's a very important point for the table and a particular morale-booster in this difficult time," Reja told Sky Sport Italia.

"We suffered a little and did well to close all the spaces. It's a shame we didn't make more of our counter-attacking opportunities, but it was very hot today and at the end everyone was tired.

"I asked the lads to keep possession, as on hot days like this it's better to force your opponent to do the running. We prepared the game well with four attacking players, but went too deep in the second half and probably felt nervous. We took home an excellent point."

Atalanta have won just one of their last 10 Serie A games.
