Atalanta out of relegation zone with Siena win

Luca Cigarini and Giacomo Bonaventura are on target for Atalanta as they win 2-1 against Siena at home in Serie A.

Atalanta have moved out of the relegation zone in Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Siena at home.

After a goalless first half, the game burst into life just before the hour mark when the visitors opened the scoring.

Ferreira Reginaldo put Siena in the lead when he found the target with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box.

However, that lead lasted for just two minutes as Luca Cigarini equalised for Atalanta with a direct free kick.

Minutes later Atalanta went down to 10 men as Carlos Carmona was shown the red card.

However, Atalanta refused to give in and scored their second and winning goal with eight minutes left on the clock, Giacomo Bonaventura firing in from outside the box.
