Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao shared four goals and the spoils at El Madrigal this afternoon.
Veteran Spanish midfielder Marcos Senna put Villarreal in front with just ten minutes on the clock with a strike from the edge of the area.
Senna's strike was enough for the home side to take a one-goal lead into the break as Bilbao struggled to create goalscoring chances.
However, in the 62nd minute current Spain international Fernando Llorente drew the visitors level.
Just two minutes Bilbao got themselves in front when winger Markel Susaeta Laskurain curled his effort into the net from inside the area.
Bilbao failed to hold on though, with Nilmar rescuing a draw for the Yellow Submarine.
