Aritz Aduriz signs new Athletic Bilbao deal

Experienced forward Aritz Aduriz signs a new one-year contract with Athletic Bilbao, which will run until the end of next season.

Experienced forward Aritz Aduriz has signed a new one-year contract with Athletic Bilbao.

The 35-year-old's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but the striker has now penned fresh terms until the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Aduriz has netted 133 times in 295 appearances for his Basque outfit, including 36 goals in 55 matches last term.

The veteran has also scored twice in 11 games for the Spanish national team and it is understood that he rejected interest from the MLS to remain in La Liga.

Aduriz, who has already found the back of the net on 12 occasions during the 2016-17 campaign, has also represented Real Valladolid, Mallorca and Valencia during a professional career that started in 1999.
