Athletic Bilbao: 'Ander Herrera will stay'

Ander Herrera has reportedly told Athletic Bilbao that he does not want to leave the club.

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera has reportedly signalled his intention to remain with the club.

The Spaniard was widely linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, but a move broke down due to the English club's unwillingness to meet his release clause.

Herrera's form suffered in the early part of the season, but he has since regained his spot in a Bilbao side that is fighting for the top four in La Liga.

"We know people are looking but the situation has not changed. Ander has us that he does not want to leave the club in this moment," a club source told Sky Sports News.

Herrera's current release clause stands at little over £30m.
