Half-Time Report: Atletico Madrid in control against Malaga

Atletico Madrid score twice in the first half to lead Malaga in La Liga.

Atletico Madrid have headed into half time with a 2-0 lead over Malaga in their La Liga clash at Vicente Calderon this afternoon.

The home side had a chance to open the scoring when Koke unleashed a powerful effort from a Juanfran cross, but Weligton turned it behind for a corner.

Atletico capitalised from the set piece though, as Tiago was there to head in at the near post after Koke had whipped the ball back into the box.

Koke continued to look lively as he tried to double the hosts' advantage with a low drive from just outside the box after Arda Turan had made a quick run down the wing.

The home side did double their advantage before the break though, as Turan led another attack moments before the interval, setting Antoine Griezmann up for a tap in from close range.
