Atletico Madrid have revealed that experienced midfielder Tiago has "left the clinic" after undergoing an operation on his fractured leg.
The 34-year-old collapsed in pain during the first period of his team's 1-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday, with initial suggestions that the Portuguese had suffered a serious problem.
Those fears were confirmed by a subsequent scan, which revealed that the midfielder was facing three months on the sidelines with a fracture.
The Portugal international has since undergone an operation, however, and will now continue his recovery in the hands of the Atletico medical team.
Tiago has left the clinic. Our number '5' has asked us to thank you for the spectacular support of these days. Thank you! #ÁnimoTiago

Tiago has started 12 of Atletico's 13 league matches this season and all five in the Champions League, but is now not expected to return to action until March.
