Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez has revealed that he is on the right track as he battles to overcome a serious knee injury.
The Spanish international has not played for over a month after suffering a strain in his right knee, but has claimed that he hopes to "start moving forward soon".
"I feel better. On Friday, I have another test and we'll see what they say. On Friday, it marks six weeks since I've been out and I hope I get cleared to starting doing more," he told reporters at a press conference.
"It's been a slow process because you can't do anything until the bone closes. I don't want to run a risk of reinjuring it and I hope I can start moving forward soon."
Suarez, 26, has made two appearances for his country.
