Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago has undergone surgery after fracturing his wrist in his side's 2-0 defeat to Almeria in La Liga at the weekend.
The Portuguese suffered the injury in the second half of the league meeting after a late challenge from Helder Barbosa led to him falling heavily on his hand.
Tiago suffered a sprained knee in the challenge, but it was later confirmed by Atletico that the midfielder had also fractured his left wrist.
It is not yet clear how long the 32-year-old will be out of action, but a period of at least two months has been suggested in the Spanish media.
