Two goals within the opening ten minutes allowed Levante to claim maximum points from their home encounter with Atletico Madrid this afternoon.
The home side broke the deadlock with barely a minute on the clock. Barkero crossed for Valdo, who headed first time in the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Arouna Kone doubled Levante's advantage in the tenth minute when he converted another cross from Bakero.
Visiting Atletico went in search of a route back into the match after the restart.
However, any chance they had of claiming a share of the spoils ended seven minutes from time when Miranda was handed his marching orders for a foul on Botelho.
The win has lifted Levante up to fourth in the La Liga table.
