Real Mallorca scored two goals in two minutes as they overcame Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
It was the away side who started the stronger, but Mallorca so nearly took the lead after 11 minutes with an effort from Victor, but his strike just missed the post.
Madrid were next to go close after 14 minutes via Mario Suarez, but his header was pushed wide by Dudu Aouate.
Mallorca continued to carve out some decent chances in the opening half, with Gonzalo Castro coming close after 24 minutes in a tight 30 minutes of football.
Mallorca took the lead moments into the second period when Diego Godin scored an own goal after good work from Michael Pereira, before Pereira added the home side's second with a cool finish to send them 2-0 ahead after 49 minutes.
The home side were reduced to ten men after 53 minutes, however, when Ivan Ramis was shown a red card for a hand ball in the area, but Falcao's penalty was pushed away by Aouate.
Falcao made up for the saved effort after 66 minutes, however, as he moved Madrid to within a goal of Mallorca.
Falcao and Miranda led the saviour mission in the latter stages of the match, and both came close after 77 minutes but to no avail.
Gabi and Arda Turan also got in on the act in the final ten minutes of play, but the home side somehow resisted the pressure to secure a welcome three points in their fight for survival in La Liga.
Mallorca sit 12th in La Liga, while Atletico Madrid remain eighth.
