Atletico Madrid will apparently reprise their interest in Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain at the end of the season.
The soon-to-be dethroned La Liga champions tried to sign the Argentine as a replacement for Diego Costa last summer, before moving for Mario Mandzukic.
Mandzukic has scored 20 goals in all competitions for Atleti but has also had his personal problems with head coach Diego Simeone.
Spanish publication Marca reports that Simeone remains keen on Higuain but is aware that a deal could be difficult to strike as Napoli are unlikely to want to sell a player for whom they paid Real Madrid €40m (£29m).
Whether Napoli, who are currently fourth in the Serie A table, can secure Champions League football could decide the future of the 27-year-old, who has scored 49 goals in 97 games since moving to Italy in 2013.
