Atletico Madrid: 'We won't sell Koke'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke is not for sale, according to the club's president Enrique Cerezo.

Atletico Madrid's president Enrique Cerezo has insisted that midfielder Koke is not for sale this summer, despite reported interest from Catalan giants Barcelona.

Cerezo said that with the club's recent success it would make no sense to sell their best assets, and that they are in a stable financial situation so any bids for players would need to be high.

"He is our player and he will continue with us," Cerezo told Foro Nuevo Murcia. "They know that very well.

"We are not a selling club. We are a stable club. And I insist: Koke wants to play for Atletico, he is our franchise player and will continue to be a Rojiblanco. There is nothing else to add."

The 22-year-old has been capped seven times by Spain.
