Fernando Torres has revealed that he has begun talks with Atletico Madrid over a permanent contract.
The Spanish international's 18-month loan from AC Milan will expire at the end of the season and as it stands, the striker will return to San Siro for the 2016-17 campaign.
Torres, however, has confirmed that discussions have taken place as the 32-year-old targets a fresh contract with his boyhood club.
"I hope to stay [at Atleti] for many years and hopefully I can stay forever at where I want to be, which is Atletico," Torres told EFE.
"There are talks [over a new deal] and goodwill, which is important to me, but I still think it's secondary. We have the game of our lives [the Champions League final] before then, but it's true that we've begun talks and I like that."
Torres has scored nine goals in his last 15 appearances for the Spanish outfit.
