Rangers join Cristian Rodriguez race?

A report claims that Rangers are in the race for Atletico Madrid attacker Cristian Rodriguez.

Rangers have reportedly emerged as surprise suitors for Atletico Madrid midfielder Cristian Rodriguez.

The 29-year-old has been with Atletico since 2012, but has largely struggled to earn a regular first-team spot in the Spanish capital.

Queens Park Rangers have been linked with a move for the Uruguay international, with Atletico said to be open to a sale.

However, according to Inside Spanish Football, Scottish Championship side Rangers are also preparing a surprise offer.

Rangers are hopeful that the chance to represent a club with their history will appeal to the experienced midfielder.
