Atletico Madrid are reportedly prepared to break their transfer record in order to bring Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani to the Vicente Calderon this summer.
The Spanish outfit sit second in La Liga after 28 matches, but they have only scored 42 times in the league this season, which is 39 fewer than Real Madrid, who sit one spot below them.
Mario Mandzukic and Jackson Martinez have both struggled to fill the void left by Diego Costa in recent seasons and according to Marca, Atletico boss Diego Simeone sees Cavani as the player to improve his team's output.
Cavani, 29, has scored 17 times in 38 games for PSG this season, but is believed to be keen on a move away this summer after spending the majority of his time in France playing in a wide position.
