Augsburg have climbed to seventh in the Bundesliga table thanks to a comfortable 3-0 victory over SC Paderborn.
The hosts needed just seven minutes to break the deadlock as Halil Altintop stormed forward from midfield before releasing Tobias Werner, who kept his composure to slot past Lukas Kruse.
Paderborn improved after the early setback to prevent Augsburg from creating too many chances in the first half, but their own shortcomings in the final third of the pitch ensured that an equaliser was always unlikely.
Augsburg had to wait until the opening stages of the second half to double their lead as Werner took full advantage of gaps in the visiting defence to head home Paul Verhaegh's inviting cross.
A rare Paderborn chance fell to Patrick Ziegler just after the hour mark, but he could only head wide from a free kick delivered to the back post.

Werner turned into the provider for Augsburg's third of the afternoon when the forward's free kick was met by a powerful header from Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker.
Markus Weinzierl's side looked capable of adding more goals late on, but Kruse kept out Markus Feulner's low effort to prevent Augsburg from recording a more emphatic triumph.
