Scottish League One roundup: Late goals galore as Morton lose to Ayr

Sports Mole rounds up all of the action from Saturday's games in Scottish League One, where Greenock Morton and Dunfermline both falter on the opening weekend.

Jim Duffy's Greenock Morton started life in Scottish League One with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Ayr United, while title favourites Dunfermline Athletic could only manage a goalless draw with Brechin City.

Jordan Allan's red card with ten minutes to go proved decisive as Ayr punished 10-man Morton with a late winner courtesy of Ryan Donnelly.

Meanwhile, Peterhead had talismanic striker Rory McAllister to thank for their point after he struck with just five minutes remaining to rescue a draw with Stirling Albion.

Martin Grehan's 88th-minute winner gave his side victory over Airdrieonians, while Stranraer drew with Forfar Athletic.

Results in full: Ayr United 1-0 Greenock Morton, Dunfermline 0-0 Brechin City, Peterhead 1-1 Stirling Albion, Stenhousemuir 1-0 Airdrieonians, Stranraer 1-1 Forfar Athletic
