Scottish League One roundup: Ayr United unbeaten in six after Forfar draw

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's afternoon games in Scottish League One, as Ayr United continue their impressive run of form with a draw against Forfar Athletic.

Ayr United fought hard to pick up a 2-2 away draw against Forfar Athletic in the Scottish League One, despite having a man sent off.

Danny Denholm and Iain Campbell gave the home side a 2-0 lead at the break, before Andy Graham pulled a goal back for the visitors. Nicky Devlin was then sent off for Ayr, but that did not halt Ross Caldwell from levelling things with just over 15 minutes remaining.

Cowdenbeath and Stenhousemuir also battled out a 2-2 draw, with Bradley Donaldson and Greig Spence putting the Blue Brazil ahead before Colin McMenamin and Lewis Small scored two goals in the final three minutes for the away side.

Elsewhere, Airdrieonians picked up a 1-0 win against Brechin City thanks to a second half Liam Watt goal, and Albion Rovers secured a 1-0 home victory against Peterhead following a late John Gemmell finish.

Results in full: Airdrieonians 1-0 Brechin City (0-0), Albion Rovers 1-0 Peterhead (0-0), Cowdenbeath 2-2 Stenhousemuir (1-0), Forfar Athletic 2-2 Ayr United (2-0).
