The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Barcelona eye possible reinforcements.
The Spanish champions spent big on Antoine Griezmann last summer but missed out on a big-name striker in January and have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that selling players rather than buying could be their priority this summer.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news from the Camp Nou.
Monday morning's Barcelona transfer talk news roundup:
Arsenal 'make Philippe Coutinho proposal to Barcelona'
Arsenal have allegedly upped their efforts in the race to sign Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
With Bayern Munich unwilling to take up their option to keep the Brazilian on a permanent deal, Barcelona have been left to wait for offers from elsewhere.
Given their need to raise funds for new players and to balance the books, the Catalan giants are eager to sell the former Liverpool man.
However, according to reports in Spain, Arsenal have made contact with the La Liga runners-up to propose a loan agreement with the option to buy.
Although agreeing to that compromise would get the 28-year-old off the wage bill, it is suggested that Barcelona officials are not prepared to accept such a bid at this time.
Coutinho netted a double on Friday evening as Bayern thrashed his parent club by an 8-2 scoreline in the Champions League quarter-finals.
All but four Barcelona players 'placed on transfer list'
Barcelona have reportedly put almost all of their first-team squad on the transfer list as the club prepares to rebuild following a disappointing 2019-20 campaign.
The Catalan giants finished behind Real Madrid in La Liga before suffering an embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Friday night.
Head coach Quique Setien and director of football Eric Abidal are both expected to leave Camp Nou in the coming days, but according to Sport, there are also likely to be huge changes in the team.
The report claims that the entire squad has been put up for sale aside from Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Clement Lenglet, Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi.
As a result, the likes of Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann are all believed to be available for purchase before the transfer window closes on October 5.
Messi, meanwhile, is said to be considering his future at the club, with Manchester City believed to be in pole position to sign the Argentine should he seek pastures new.
