Lionel Messi: 'We can go far in Champions League'

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi insists that his side can advance deep into the Champions League this season.

Lionel Messi is confident that Barcelona can advance deep into the Champions League this season.

The Catalan outfit were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Atletico Madrid last season, but the Argentine predicts a more prosperous campaign this time around.

"Of course we are aware of how difficult and tightly contested the competition will be. We're aware that difficult moments will arise for us, but I believe we can go far again. These are the best teams in the world, that's why everyone likes this competition," he said in an interview with Adidas.

Messi, whose side face Paris Saint-Germain in the group stages of the Champions League this evening, has started this season with five goals and seven assists in seven matches.
