Lionel Messi overcomes a hamstring injury to start for Barcelona against Bayern Munich.

Lionel Messi has been included in the Barcelona starting lineup for this evening's Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

The Argentine has shaken off a hamstring injury to start in attack alongside Alexis Sanchez and Pedro.

Youngster Marc Bartra has also been named in the defence, but there is no place in the side for former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

Meanwhile, Mario Gomez has replaced the suspended Mario Mandzukic up front for the hosting Germans. Jerome Boateng, who spent a season with Manchester City, has also come into the defence.
