Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Eibar

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Eibar.

Barcelona will be looking for their fifth straight win in all competitions when they travel to Eibar in La Liga on Saturday afternoon.

Ernesto Valverde's side made a shaky start to the season but have now won their last three in the league against Villarreal, Getafe and Sevilla to move into second spot in the table.

The reigning champions are just two points off leaders Real Madrid heading into this weekend's matches, while they will welcome Los Blancos to Camp Nou for the first Clasico of the season on October 26.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barca's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the match.

Samuel Umtiti

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: October 29 (vs. Real Valladolid)

Samuel Umtiti is out until the end of October with a foot injury. The 25-year-old, who is yet to represent Barca this season, picked up the issue while training with France during last month's international break. The defender was seen back in training on Monday but has not yet taken part in a full-contact session.

Jordi Alba

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Eibar)

Jordi Alba has missed Barca's last five matches with a hamstring problem, but the defender was named on the bench against Sevilla before the international break, suggesting that he could be available to start this match.

Junior Firpo

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Eibar)

Junior Firpo could not fully benefit from Alba's latest injury problems, with the 23-year-old struggling to overcome a muscular injury in recent matches. The summer arrival could be available for Valverde this weekend, though.

Carles Perez

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Eibar)

Carles Perez was forced to withdraw from the Spain Under-21 squad due to a knock, and the attacker could only complete part of Monday's training session with Barca as he battles to overcome the issue.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Gerard Pique's fifth booking of the new season against Sevilla last time out has ruled the experienced centre-back out of the clash with Eibar. Meanwhile, Ronald Araujo - who debuted against Sevilla - and Ousmane Dembele were both sent off against Julen Lopetegui's side, making the duo unavailable.
