Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Villarreal could line up in Sunday's La Liga clash with Barcelona.

Villarreal will be bidding to return to winning ways in La Liga when they continue their domestic campaign at home to title-chasing Barcelona on Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow Submarine, who are currently seventh in the table, did not pick up any fresh fitness concerns during their 2-1 defeat to Alaves on Wednesday evening.

Vicente Iborra will again miss out through injury, though, while the match is expected to come too soon for Pervis Estupinan, who is battling to overcome a muscular problem.

Villarreal will face Arsenal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday evening, meaning that head coach Unai Emery could make changes for this weekend's contest.

El Submarino Amarillo are fighting both Real Sociedad and Real Betis for fifth position, though, and it is therefore expected to be a strong XI on Sunday afternoon.

Sergio Asenjo was left out against Alaves but should return between the sticks, while the same can also be said for Pau Torres, who continues to be linked with a big-money move away from the club.

Juan Foyth and Moi Gomez are also in contention to start this weekend, but Paco Alcacer and Gerard Moreno should retain their positions in the final third of the field.

Villarreal possible starting lineup: Asenjo; Foyth, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza; Parejo, Capoue, Trigueros; Gomez, Alcacer, G. Moreno
