Andres Iniesta, who is still playing for Vissel Kobe, says that he wants to return to Barcelona at some stage in the future.

Andres Iniesta has revealed that he wants to return to Barcelona at some stage in the future.

The 37-year-old represented the Catalan giants between 1996 and 2018, progressing through the youth system before turning out for the first team on 674 occasions in all competitions.

Iniesta is currently playing in Japan for Vissel Kobe and still has little over two years left to run on his deal.

However, having watched former teammate Xavi return to Barcelona as head coach, the experienced midfielder said that he "would love" to make the move back to the club in the future.

"I don't know what will happen in the future, I would love in some moment of my life to return to Barca. I don't know in what capacity," Iniesta told Sport. "To return to Barca, to my home, to be able to continue helping in one way or another, but the nobody knows the future."

The Spaniard has scored 22 goals and registered 21 assists in 99 appearances for Vissel Kobe in all competitions.
