Josep Maria Bartomeu "convinced" Carlos Puyol will return

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu hints that Carlos Puyol could return to the club in a coaching capacity.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu is "convinced" that Carlos Puyol will return to the Spanish outfit in a coaching capacity in the future.

The long-serving centre-back revealed on Tuesday that he will depart the Camp Nou at the end of the season following 14 years with the club.

However, Bartomeu has hinted that there will always be a position for the Spanish international with the Catalan outfit.

"I don't know what he will do in the near future, but I'm convinced he will come back to the club because he still has so much to give," Bartomeu told AS.

"He's been an example for all of us with his fighting spirit. What he's achieved at Barca is sensational."

Puyol has made close to 600 appearances for Barca.
