Silvio Berlusconi says that AC Milan's chances of landing Pep Guardiola as manager are "very low" but admits that he wants the former Barcelona chief to take charge at the San Siro.

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has admitted that he is still keen to lure Pep Guardiola to the San Siro.

The former Barcelona manager is currently on a sabbatical having guided the Catalan club to two Champions League wins and three La Liga titles in four years, and has been linked with taking charge at a number of different clubs across Europe.

Berlusconi has conceded that there could be room for Guardiola at the Rossoneri, with current boss Massimiliano Allegri's place at the club far from certain.

He told reporters: "[You ask] if Allegri will stay at Milan next season? I have to say the truth? Please, ask me another question.

"I always tried to bring [Guardiola] to Milan, because over the last [few] years because Barcelona played the best football.

"We contacted him, but he said he wanted to stay in a sabbatical. He said that at Milan he'd have fun and felt admiration towards me, and appreciation for the Lake Como, where I could offer a beautiful villa. At this moment, I have to say the percentage for him to come to Milan is very low."

Milan currently sit seventh in Serie A.
