Andres Iniesta injured for two weeks

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has been ruled out for two weeks with a muscle tear in his thigh.

The Spanish international picked up the injury during his side's 9-0 Copa del Rey win at home to Hospitalet on Thursday. The Spanish giants won the tie 10-0 on aggregate.

Iniesta was forced off in the first half after he had given Barca a 2-0 lead at the Nou Camp.

"[Iniesta] will be out of action for two weeks with a muscle tear in his thigh," read a message on the club's official Twitter page.

The 27-year-old is likely to return for Barcelona's first match after the winter break at Espanyol on Sunday, January 8.
