Lionel Messi has claimed that his Barcelona teammates are the main reason behind the numerous personal accolades he has collected.
The Argentinian international has won the FIFA Ballon d'Or award for two years in succession and has been widely tipped to claim the trophy again.
Despite the recognition, Messi has thanked the likes of Xavi and Andres Iniesta for helping him to fulfil his potential.
"I don't consider myself the best in the world," the 24-year-old told Onze. "If I am what they say, I repeat, it is thanks to my teammates. We have done all this work together.
"I have the great fortune to play with Xavi and Iniesta. They are players that I admire for their class and influence over the game.
"I have a very good relationship with them. They have become my friends."
Messi joined Barca's youth team in 2000.
