Real Madrid, Barcelona dominate FIFA FIFPro team of the year

Radamel Falcao is the only player to be named in FIFA's FIFPro team of the year not to play for either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Barcelona and Real Madrid players dominate the FIFA FIFPro team of the year, announced at the Ballon d'Or awards ceremony in Zurich this evening.

Every player in the lineup plies their trade in La Liga, with Colombian striker Radamel Falcao being the only man selected who does not play for either of Spain's two leading clubs.

Many of Spain's Euro 2012-winning team, such as captain Iker Casillas, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso and Xavi, have been honoured.

The three Ballon d'Or contenders - Andres Iniesta, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi - are also named in the lineup.

Team in full: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid); Dani Alves (Barcelona) , Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) , Marcelo (Real Madrid); Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona); Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
