Oriol Riera thanks Barcelona supporters

Osasuna forward Oriol Riera thanks the Barcelona supporters for their ovation when the Spaniard departed the field in the latter stages of Sunday's clash.

Osasuna forward Oriol Riera has thanked the Barcelona supporters for their ovation when the Spaniard departed the field in the latter stages of Sunday's meeting at the Camp Nou.

Riera, who came through the youth system at Barca, received a warm round of applause when he departed in the second half of his side's 7-0 defeat to the Spanish champions.

"I want to thank the crowd for their ovation. It was a special day, for my family and friends, it was comforting," he told reporters at a press conference.

Riera joined Barcelona in 2000 and he was a regular scorer in their C and B teams before departing for Cultural Leonesa in 2006.
