Ronald Koeman favourite for Barcelona job

Bookmakers install Southampton boss Ronald Koeman as favourite to take charge of Barcelona, should Luis Enrique leave the club.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has been tipped by bookmakers to return to Barcelona as manager.

The Dutchman played for the Catalan giants between 1989 and 1995, scoring 88 goals in 264 appearances.

Despite leading Barca to a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble this season, current boss Luis Enrique has admitted that he is unsure over his future at the club.

Koeman has earned praise for the job that he has done with the Saints, leading them to a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last season after they had been tipped for a relegation battle.

Bookmakers have installed the 52-year-old as the early favourite to succeed Enrique should he leave Camp Nou.

Former Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard and ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp are also in the running.

Koeman took charge of Southampton last summer.
