Barcelona score twice late on to deny Granada a famous clean sheet.

Barcelona leave it late at the Nou Camp to take a 2-0 win courtesy of Xavi's 87th-minute strike and an own goal.

In the first half, Granada defended very impressively despite Barcelona seeing a lot of the ball and they limited the hosts to a handful of real chances.

Lionel Messi had a shot blocked early on and Cesc Fabregas's effort was well saved on 23 minutes.

Granada could have scored themselves in the 31st minute, but Victor Valdes saved well from Guilherme Siqueira's strike.

In the second half Barca continued to press and dominate possession, but despite Tono making a good save from an Alexandre Song header the hosts were still being restricted by the Granada back line.

Tono again denied Barcelona, this time Messi, on 67 minutes as Barca just started to break through on a few occasions.

The Granada goalkeeper continued to come to his side's aid, firstly in the 77th minute from Fabregas then a world-class stop denied Xavi two minutes later.

Granada had a chance to nick it on 85 but Orellana's effort was saved by Valdes.

Barca finally got their goal to break Granada hearts through the ever-reliable Xavi, who smashed an effort in off the bar.

Barca then grabbed a second in injury time when Borja put through his own net from a Messi cross.
