Everton are reportedly interested in signing Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 27-year-old has started all three of Brighton's Premier League games this season and opened his account for the season with a goal in the 2-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday.
Although Trossard appears to be a key part of Graham Potter's plans, according to Football Insider, Everton have identified the Belgium international as a potential replacement for Anthony Gordon.
The Everton striker has been linked with a move to Chelsea, and if Gordon does join the Blues then Everton will need to strengthen in the final third before the transfer window closes.
There was a belief that Trossard's contract expires next summer, but Potter has indicated that the player has an option for an additional year, which could affect Everton's chances of signing the 27-year-old.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier is reportedly a target for Nottingham Forest.
The Tricky Trees have been busy in the transfer market this summer, signing as many as 16 players, but they are still looking to add to their squad before the transfer window closes.
According to The Sun, Forest are interested in signing Aurier, who is a free agent after his contract with Villarreal expired.
Forest have made enquiries about signing the 29-year-old, who is also attracting interest from Fulham, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray.
Aurier, who made 24 appearances for Villarreal last season, has already rejected an offer to join Ligue 1 side Nantes.

Elsewhere, Ben Brereton Diaz is still interested in joining Nice after Blackburn Rovers rejected an offer from the French club.
The forward scored 22 league goals last season, which attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Nice who recently had a £10m bid rejected.
Brereton Diaz has less than 12 months remaining on his contract, and although Blackburn want to extend his current deal, the Chile international is keen to explore other opportunities.
Blackburn's proposed deal would result in a pay rise, but according to Sky Sports News, Brereton Diaz is keen to talk to Nice if a fee can be agreed between the two clubs.
Everton have also been linked with the 23-year-old who could leave before the transfer window closes if Blackburn's £15m asking price is met.

Barcelona boss Xavi is reportedly set to allow Pablo Torre to return to Racing de Santander on loan.
The 19-year-old joined Barcelona from Santander in March and featured in the pre-season tour to the United States, but he is not expected to be part of Xavi's plans this season.
According to Football Espana, via Marca, Santander are looking to secure a loan deal to bring their former player back to the club.
The Segunda Division outfit are offering Torre regular first-team football, with the player believed to be open to a return.
However, the two clubs are currently in disagreement over Torre's wages, which Barcelona want to split equally, while Santander are hoping the Catalan giants pay a greater contribution.
