Al-Nassr are reportedly willing to offer Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets a contract worth £16m, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Al-Nassr are reportedly prepared to offer Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets a contract worth €18m (£16m) across two seasons to sign for the Saudi Arabian club.

With his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, Busquets is yet to make a decision on his future.

Although he has been heavily linked with a move to the MLS, the 34-year-old continues to be a prominent figure in the Barcelona side.

Busquets has featured in 27 competitive games for Barcelona this season, and he is currently the club captain.

Xavi recently stated that he is keen to keep the experienced midfielder, claiming that he would be "delighted" if he opted to stay at Camp Nou.

However, according to reports in Spain, Busquets has been presented with a lucrative offer to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.

The proposal would see Busquets earn €18m (£16m) over the course of a two-year tax-free deal, but he is currently awaiting a contract offer from Barcelona before he makes a decision.

Al-Nassr recently signed former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo on a lucrative deal until June 2025.

Saudi Arabia are keen to bring major names to their domestic league as they prepare to bid for the 2030 World Cup.

While Busquets is still yet to decide whether to remain at Barcelona, the club's Director of Football, Mateu Alemany, recently claimed that he will not get involved in the situation.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's 3-0 victory over Sevilla, Alemany told DAZN: "I am not going to enter into the coach's plan, of course. Busi knows the consideration and appreciation he has at home.

"Obviously, he is an institution here; for the club, for us and for the Barca members. He is out of contract, but that is a circumstance that he will assess because here the important thing is also his future project."

"I believe that between him and Xavi they will make that decision when they consider it pertinent, and we will support it. If he stays, fantastic."

Busquets sustained an ankle injury in Sunday's win, and he could be set for a spell on the sidelines, although no timeframe has been put on his recovery.
