Antoine Griezmann has reportedly apologised to Barcelona for rejecting them last summer in the hope that the Spanish champions will reignite their interest ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.
Griezmann was heavily linked with a switch to Barca in last summer's transfer window, with the Catalan giants believed to have spent 12 months working on a deal for the France international.
However, the 28-year-old announced before the 2018 World Cup that he would be signing a new long-term contract with Atletico Madrid.
There is again speculation surrounding the attacker, though, with Atletico's last-16 Champions League defeat to Juventus seemingly contributing to a change of heart.
Barca are not said to be interested in a swoop for Griezmann this summer, but according to Mundo Deportivo, the former Real Sociedad youngster's representatives have contacted the Catalan giants to issue an apology in the hope of a deal taking place at the end of this season.
Manchester United are also believed to be closely monitoring developments ahead of a potential summer bid.
