Inter Milan have reportedly failed with a loan approach for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The Chile international scored three times in 53 appearances for the Catalan giants during the 2018-19 campaign following a switch from Bayern Munich.
Vidal faces increased competition for a spot in the Barca midfield this season, though, and he was left out of the squad for last week's La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Inter approached the Spanish champions over a loan move for Vidal, but Ernesto Valverde's side made it clear that the South American would not be available this summer.
Vidal, who provided three goals and seven assists in 33 La Liga appearances last term, played over 120 times in Serie A during an extremely successful period with Juventus.
Inter, meanwhile, are still said to be in discussions with Manchester United over a potential move for Alexis Sanchez before the European transfer window slams shut.
