Barcelona confirm talks over Arturo Vidal exit

Barcelona sporting director Ramon Planes confirms that Arturo Vidal is set to leave the club, with Inter Milan reporteddly closing in on a deal for the midfielder.

Barcelona sporting director Ramon Planes has confirmed that Arturo Vidal is set to depart the Catalan giants.

The Chile international is contracted to Barca until 2021 but is not believed to be in Ronald Koeman's plans for the new campaign.

Inter Milan are supposedly closing in on a deal for the former Bayern Munich and Juventus midfielder, and Planes has revealed that talks are progressing well regarding Vidal's exit.

"It's not done. We have to be grateful to Arturo, a player with enormous heart and commitment, for what he has given us these years," Planes told reporters.

"We are advancing in his possible exit, but there is nothing closed yet. The market is difficult because of coronavirus and we have to have a lot of patience."

Since arriving at Camp Nou in 2018, Vidal has gone on to register 11 goals in 96 appearances for La Blaugrana, winning one La Liga crown in the 2018-19 campaign.
