Barcelona 'nearing swoop for Brazilian youngster'

Barcelona reportedly beat off competition from a number of European clubs to land Santos playmaker Tailson.

Barcelona are reportedly closing in on a move for Santos playmaker Tailson.

The 20-year-old, who largely operates as an attacking midfielder, is coming to the end of his deal with Santos.

According to Diario Sport, Barca have swooped to land the Brazilian on a three-year contract and he will initially link up with Barcelona B with the view to developing into a first-team player.

The report claims that negotiations between the two parties are 'very advanced', with the Spanish champions beating off competition from a host of European clubs to secure his services.

Talison has regularly trained with Santos's first team despite failing to make a senior appearance for the club.

Barca recently secured the signature of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, but Ernesto Valverde's side could reportedly be priced out of a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar.
