Barcelona are reportedly planning a summer overhaul after their latest 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid, with the club hoping to build a new team around Lionel Messi.

Barcelona are reportedly set to undergo an overhaul this summer with the Catalan club planning to build a new team around main man Lionel Messi.

The La Liga side are hoping to sign two forwards and two defenders later this year, following their 2-0 defeat to arch rivals Real Madrid on Sunday.

According to Sport, Barca have expressed their desire to sign a centre-back and right-back at the end of the season, with the Nou Camp outfit struggling for options in these positions.

Meanwhile, Quique Setien's side are also hoping to bring in a new winger and striker as part of their summer plans.

After their latest defeat to Los Blancos, Barcelona currently sit one point behind Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane's side occupying first place in La Liga.
